The Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank reported revenues of $272,374.94 for the business week ending on Friday, July 24, 2026. The land bank receives its funds from a two per cent fee charged on many Vineyard real estate transactions.
Much of the land bank revenue last week came from the town of Edgartown, where four transactions resulted in $128,174.92. Two transactions in Chilmark earned $36,000. Two transactions in Oak Bluffs resulted in $27,700. One transaction earned $27,500 in West Tisbury. And one transaction generated 53,000 in Aquinnah. No eligible transactions were recorded in Tisbury.
The land bank uses its revenues to purchase and manage land for purposes of conservation, preservation and passive recreation. To date the agency has participated in the purchase of more than 4,242 acres of Vineyard land.
