A runaway pig is out and about on the streets of Edgartown, town police officials reported Monday morning. 

Last spotted Sunday at 10 a.m., the pig has been seen meandering through front yards on Chase Road, heading in the direction of Dark Woods Road. Townspeople should not pursue the pig or try to catch it, Edgartown police advised, but alert animal control at 508-939-1782.

Officials are hoping to reunite the runaway pig with its owner as soon as possible.
