It’s been another week of unusual weather, with snowflakes and sleet on April 22 and then a warm weekend with temperature in the high 60s. Spring is slowly inching its way forward.

Congratulations to Christopher P. Manning on becoming an Aquinnah special police officer, upon the recommendation of Aquinnah Police Chief Randhi P. Belain and conferred by the Aquinnnah selectboard. Chris is following in the footsteps of his father, Aquinnah police Sgt. Paul G. Manning.

Joyce Bowker, our director at the up-Island Council on Aging will observe her 36th year at the helm, overseeing and caring for more than a thousand elders through the programs and services at the Howes House.
