Editors, Vineyard Gazette;
My granddaughter and I were pleased to win second prize with our family traditional peach pie in this year’s fair contest. But we were sorely disappointed to pick it up Sunday and find mold all over it. So only the judges got to eat the missing sliver. Too much care and work to do this again. I think the food submission has to rethink how baked entries can be preserved for the four days in a summer’s heat. I really wonder why they even have to stay after being judged as everything is crammed in cabinets and hard to even distinguish from one another. It was an experience.
