Early voting is underway in all Island towns in advance of the Tuesday, Sept. 6 Massachusetts primary elections for state offices from governor to sheriff. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on election day; hours for early voting through Friday, Sept. 2 vary by town.
All voters will see contests for governor and lieutenant governor while Democrats will also determine candidates for attorney general, secretary of the state, auditor, and sheriff. Republicans will also find contests for representative in Congress, state senator, and district attorney on their ballots.
Voters seeking information on online voter registration, voter status update, or registration verification can contact their town clerk or visit the secretary of the commonwealth website. Vote by mail applications, also available at town clerks or at the state site, are due Monday, August 29.
