The Edgartown select board has scheduled a hearing at 4:05 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 12 to address a request from the Chappy Ferry for a fare increase. The meeting will take place over Zoom. See the town website for the link.

The Chappy minivan door to door service is now in operation on Tuesdays. Here is a reminder of how to go about requesting a Chappy pickup that will get you to the Vineyard Transit Authority Medivan at the big ferry. Call the transit authority at 508-693-9440, ext. 1 and make your reservation for the VTA off-Island Medivan, according to the agency’s guidelines (Boston medical or Opthalmic Consultants of Boston trips). Then call the Edgartown Council on Aging at 508-627-4368 to request a home pickup by the Chappy minivan. This must be done by 1 p.m. the day before your trip. You are urged to make your reservations well in advance.

The Chappy minivan service is free and there is no cost to you for the 6 a.m. Chappy Ferry. When the Medivan returns from Boston, the Chappy minivan will be waiting to take you home. A Chappy Ferry passenger ticket is required for the return trip only.

The Chappaquiddick Community Center is hosting a Chappy transportation conversation with Cindy Trish on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 1:30 p.m. The meeting will be held over Zoom. See the community center’s website for further information and the Zoom link.
