The NAACP of Martha’s Vineyard will host a virtual Martin Luther King Jr. event on Monday, Jan 16. The event is from 1 to 3 p.m., and doubles as a membership drive and a presentation by keynote speaker Dr. Ala Stanford.

Dr. Stanford was appointed Region 1 Director of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services by President Biden in April 2022, overseeing children, youth and families, federally qualified health centers, office of disabilities and early childhood education.

Registration is $40, which includes a one-year membership to the Martha’s Vineyard branch of the NAACP.
