Fifth and sixth graders from the Martha’s Vineyard Public Charter School have been engaged in a research project about The Vineyard Five and other civil rights activists who have fought against injustice. On Thursday, June 22, the students, along with teacher Freedom Cartwright and MV African American Heritage Trail organizer Elaine Weintraub, will share their research and artwork created in response to the learning.
The presentation will take place at the West Tisbury Public Library on Thursday, June 22 at 3 p.m. The artwork will remain on display at the library through the end of June.
