The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

Dec. 26, 2023

Timothy A. Higgins, 40, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on a Dec. 22, 2023 charge in Vineyard Haven of assault and battery. Defendant released on personal recognizance and with further condition of no abuse of alleged victim. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Jan. 11.

Jan. 4

William S. Sanfilippo, 59, of Oak Bluffs, was arraigned on Jan. 3 charges in Oak Bluffs of unarmed burglary and assault, intimidating a witness, juror or police or court official, violating an abuse prevention order, vandalizing property and assault and battery. Defendant being held at Dukes County Correctional Facility pending final hearing on dangerousness. Detention hearing scheduled for Jan. 11.

Jan. 5

Roger V. Goncalves, 19, of Edgartown, was arraigned on Jan. 3 charges in Edgartown of trespassing and breaking and entering a vehicle or boat during daytime for the purpose of felony. Defendant released on personal recognizance and payment of $150 counsel fee and with further condition to stay away from the location of the alleged incident. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Feb. 23.

Jan. 8

Kenrick Burke, 48, of Oak Bluffs, was arraigned on August 8, 2023 charges in Oak Bluffs of negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a crosswalk violation as well as a Sept. 29, 2023 charge in Oak Bluffs of violating a municipal bylaw or ordinance. For all charges, defendant released on personal recognizance. Pretrial hearing scheduled for March 4.
