Editors, Vineyard Gazette;

Before returning to the Island recently, I stopped in Falmouth to fill up my car’s gas tank. I paid $3.03 for regular gas. When I arrived in Edgartown, I saw that the gas station is charging $4.30 for regular gas.

Many of our year-round residents are living paycheck to paycheck and can’t afford these exorbitant prices. Why isn’t there more outrage over the monopolistic prices being charged by a small group of gas retailers? I think it is time to rally the residents to put pressure on these owners.
