Dean’s List Honors

Berklee College of Music announced that Lydia Fischer of Chilmark and Evan Hall of Aquinnah earned placement on the dean’s list for the fall semester of the 2011 academic year. To be eligible for this honor, a full-time student must achieve a grade point average of 3.4 or above; a part-time student must achieve a grade point average of 3.6 or above.

Brianna Buchanan of Vineyard Haven has been named to the dean’s list at Northern Arizona University at Flagstaff for the fall 2011 semester. She is a sophomore.

Kendall Chaves, a senior from West Tisbury, has been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester, 2011, at Babson College.

Samuel Donegan, a sophomore business administration major from Vineyard Haven, was named to the fall semester dean’s list at Bryant University.

Hilary S. Dreyer, daughter of Bill and Stephanie Dreyer of West Tisbury, was named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at William Smith College in Geneva, N.Y.

Mariah HallBilsback of West Tisbury has achieved a spot on the dean’s honor list for the fall semester at Gettysburg College in Pennylvania.

Springfield College has named Taylor Hughes of Oaks Bluffs to the dean’s list for the fall term. Taylor is studying sociology.

Tufts University has named Julie Pringle, of Vineyard Haven, to the dean’s list for the fall 2011 semester. Julie is a member of the class of 2014.

Allison Roberts of Vineyard Haven has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2011 semester at Emmanuel College in Boston.

Sophomore Dylan McCarthy of Edgartown, freshman Kristen Parece of Edgartown and sophomores Olivia Gross and Taylor Perrotta, both of Vineyard Haven, have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2011 semester at the University of Vermont. Students must rank in the top 20 per cent of their class to be named to the list.

Sagitta Woodman of West Tisbury, a senior at Salve Regina University in Newport, R.I, was named to the dean’s list for the fall semester.

Siobhan Smith of West Tisbury has been named to the chancellor’s list at University of Massachuetts at Dartmouth for the fall semester. Ms. Smith is majoring in psychology. Meghan Brown and Vanessa Sampaio, both of Oak Bluffs, also have been recognized for their academic success. Both have been named to the dean’s list at the university.

Named to President’s List

Cadet Daniel Reid of Vineyard Haven was named to the Massachusetts Maritime Academy president’s list for the fall 2011 semester. The president’s list is the highest academic achievement a cadet can earn at the academy.

Featured Violinist

Shaelah Huntington of West Tisbury played the violin in the Connecticut College Orchestra Concert on Dec. 8. The concert featured music by Beethoven, Fauré and Mendelssohn. Shaelah is a sophomore at Connecticut College.
