Doris Paris Wheaton, 80, of Montclair, N.J., and Oak Bluffs, died at home on Thursday, Feb. 17.

Born in New Haven, Conn., Doris moved to New Jersey after high school where she was loved and guided by her “Aunt” Pearl Baker Moore. Doris graduated from Kean College and taught in the Montclair public school system for over 20 years.

She was an avid golfer and a member of both the Garden State Dufferettes Golf Club and the Mink Meadows Golf Club on the Vineyard.

Doris was the beloved wife of J. Hayward Wheaton, the loving mother of Marcelle White of Reston, Va., and the proud grandmother of Jason and Lauren Arcudi. She is also survived by her dear brother, Calvin R. Paris of DelRay Beach, Fla., and Oak Bluffs, two nephews and two nieces. She will be deeply missed by all.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 16 at Martin’s Home for Service Inc., 48 Elm St., Montclair, N.J.
