Rainforest Talk
Stuart Davies, director of the Center for Tropical Forest Science at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute, will report on the state of the world’s tropical forests, on Wednesday, August 25 at 7:30 p.m at the Far Barn.
His talk, Saving the World’s Tropical Forests, explains the critical importance of tropical forests and how their biodiversity can best be conserved and managed as well as used in sustainable ways for human benefit. His center’s program coordinates research on a global network of 17 tropical forest research plots in 13 countries involving hundreds of scientists from more than 40 institutions. The scale and intensity of the program is unprecedented.
