Jena T. Pothier

Jena T. Pothier of Oak Bluffs died at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital on June 11. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, June 16, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home in Oak Bluffs.

Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church on Massasoit avenue in Oak Bluffs. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Oak Bluffs. Family and friends will gather after services at the Portuguese American Club. Rather than creating another memorial fund, the family has asked that those wishing to honor Jena’s memory may do so by donating to either the Kevin Johnson Scholarship Fund, care of Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School, PO Box 1385, Oak Bluffs, MA 02557 or the Drive for Life, PO Box 3354, Edgartown, MA 02539.

David, There are no words to express my sorrow for your pain. All I can do is pray for you that memories will sustain you and love from the island can comfort you in this horrible loss. I care David very much and when I think of what you are going through I wish I was there to just give you and your wife my friendship and hugs. No day is over if it makes a memory.
