The Martha’s Vineyard Garden Club has announced its 2009 beautification awards to businesses and landmarks across the Island. These recognize the most beautifully designed, planted and maintained window boxes and/or landscaping. Here are the organizations who caught the gardeners’ eyes, so you can check them out for yourself.
In Chilmark, awards went to Larson’s Fish Market, the Home Port restaurant, Chilmark Public Library, Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank, Menemsha Cafe, and to Chilmark Chocolates an honorable mention.
Edgartown awards went to Among the Flowers Cafe, Butler Block, Carlin Eliot Gallery, Dream Weaver Collection, and Needleworks.
In Oak Bluffs: Dragonfly Gallery, Green Eyed Daisy, Jimmy Seas, Madison Inn, Sanctuary, and to Circuit House, an honorable mention.
Tisbury’s winners are the Bank of Martha’s Vineyard (Main street), C.B. Stark Jewelers, Cronig’s Market, Imagine, Island Grove Mini Golf, and honorable mentions were awarded to Shiboru, Two Susans and Zephrus restaurant.
In West Tisbury, Conroy Apothecary, Middletown Nursery and Garden Center, Up Island Cronig’s, Vineyard Gardens Nursery and West Tisbury Free Public Library took awards, with Up Island Automotive receiving an honorable mention.
