Nancy H. Subolosky Zamarro of Shrewsbury and Oak Bluffs died on Wednesday, Nov. 25, in Wachusett Extended Care Center in Holden. She was 63.

Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Lois Kimmens Subolosky. She graduated from Auburn High School and earned a teaching degree from the former Boston State College.

In October of 2006 Nancy retired from the Worcester school system, where she was the math curriculum coordinator for the school department, having previously been a mathematics teacher there. She had also been a teacher in Holden and Shrewsbury. She was a member of Saint Mary’s Church in Shrewsbury and the Massachusetts Teachers Association.

She found great pleasure spending time at her home on the Vineyard, where she would wake early to enjoy her sunrise beach walks. She also enjoyed searching for beach glass and reading. Her greatest joy, though, came from the times spent with her husband, daughters and many friends, whether at home in Shrewsbury or on the Island.

She is survived by her husband and best friend, Michael P. Zamarro; two daughters, Jayme L. Zamarro and her fiancé Rob Gangi, and Jill L. Zamarro, all of Shrewsbury; two sisters, Barbara Laimond of California and Janet McGuire of Norfolk; a sister in law, Elaine E. Zamarro of Worcester; Linus the dog; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Carol A. Subolosky.

A funeral was held on Monday, Nov. 30, at the Mercadante Funeral Home and Chapel in Worcester, with a Mass in Saint Mary’s Church in Shrewsbury. Interment followed in Mountain View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal street, Watertown, MA 02472 or The American Cancer Society, 350 Plantation street, Worcester, MA 01605.
