The Martha’s Vineyard Magazine Fall-Winter Home & Garden issue, on stands now, delves into the work of creative professionals in the fields of architecture, interiors, gardening, art and food.
The magazine takes a look at two siblings who built houses on family land in Chilmark, working with Hutker Architects to design smart, sustainable, contemporary houses that sit comfortably in the landscape. Tim Boland, director of West Tisbury’s Polly Hill Arboretum, suggests trees, shrubs and plants that provide visual interest during the winter months. And interior designer Liz Stiving-Nichols talks about her team approach to home decorating.
The magazine also visits the studio of abstract expressionist painter Marie-Louise Rouff of West Tisbury, and talks to three designers about their work: Annie Bradshaw of MV Tile Company, Ben Kelley of Building Shelter and Evangeline Costa of Evangeline & Company, a landscape designer.
In Designing the Dining Experience, food writer Catherine Walthers and photographer Randi Baird team up for a look inside the workings of West Tisbury’s State Road restaurant. Also in the Home & Garden issue: Writer Joyce Wagner talks with three window treatment professionals about protecting home privacy without sacrificing views.
