Organizers would like to thank the four teams that competed in this year’s annual over-50s ice hockey tournament. After a grueling weekend of games the Mc Sticks beat out the Miracle Autobody team in a hair-raising shoot-out to claim their trophy and maintain their leadership status from last year.
The tournament raised over $1,700 for the rink and was organized by a valiant mix from the seniors league and Bs that play regularly at the Martha’s Vineyard Arena.
It’s great to see hockey, tournaments and ice skating programs thriving at all levels.
Private chef Rick Hall fed over 60 people. A large donation was provided by the Wharf Pub and Restaurant to sustain the four teams, which included two Vineyard teams.
Thanks to the staff, refs, management, players and all who contributed to the weekend’s success.
