Welcome to Henry Cottle Shea who was born on May 7, son of Dr. Ryan Shea and his wife Rachel Cottle Shea. Henry is welcomed home by his brothers Mark and Brendan. He is the grandson of Edmund Cottle and the late Deborah (Pelow) and Mark and Susan (Lana) Shea, and great grandson of Edmund and Elizabeth Cottle of Lambert’s Cove.
Captain Hugh Taylor and his wife Jeanne have returned home from the Bahamas, just in time to open their Outermost Inn Friday for the season. The bike ferry will be opening very soon.
A memorial service will be held for Fred Croft on Sunday, May 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Gannon and Benjamin boat yard.
Across the channel at USCG Station Menemsha, a fond farewell to Shaquille Reed and his wife Jaylynn as they head to Houston, Tex. Shaq has already landed a great job on the water while he awaits his test for a 100-ton Captain’s license. No more New England winters for them although they have both resided in Maine.
Emma Riemer, daughter of Master Chief Robert and Kara Riemer, has arrived home from her sophomore year studies at Boston College. Joshua Brooks has returned to duty after spending the past week with his family in New York. Jason Breau and Joel Behr are presently in North Carolina for Boarding Officers training.
Joshua Boytek and his wife Fatine Othmane await the arrival of his mother to celebrate the second birthday of Logan Boytek on May 24.
