Looks like we are going to get some cold weather, but how can we complain when we have been somewhat warm. Also, no snow, and I know it is early but snow makes it feel like winter.

Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day these past few weeks. Big balloons go out to Culyer Fisher, who celebrated her day Jan. 1; Kayla Bundza and Alexander Dunham, Jan. 3; Aliyah Bennett, Amelia Schaeffer Russell, and Tatum Thomas Jan. 4; Ingrid Gundersen, Jan. 5; and to Evelyn Brewer and John Laird who celebrated their day Jan. 9.

Happy New Year to all of you. It has been a very busy and good start for most. I was away with family, mainly with my great niece Amanda and her fiancé Thom, and their boys Oliver, 2. and Jonha, nine months.

It was awesome to experience Christmas through the eyes of a two year old, who’s only request from Santa was a tambourine, seeing he broke his other one. I was very grateful to be a part of their day.

We spent New Year’s Eve with my nephew Doug his wife Lori and children Sabrina, 7, and Ben who just turned 5. We had Chinese food and appetizers, and we left their house at 9, and made it to 10 p.m. Awake at home, Amanda said the ball was about to drop did I want to watch. I did and we were back in bed by 12:15. We are such partiers.

I may have mentioned that I like the old game show channel which I only watch occasionally as they just repeat over and over. But I was watching one and the commercial made me laugh as it was from the 70’s and it was the clock radio with auto turn off and then hair dryers that helped curl your hair and now everyone wants a straightener. It was good for a chuckle.

I hope you are all having a great start to your new year. Please send in anything that you think the readers would like to know that you might like to share.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
