Tomorrow night’s full moon, the Honey Moon, appears low in the southern sky in the zodiacal constellation Scorpius. The moon appears a slight distance above the bright star Antares, the principal star in the constellation.
You’ll see the moon first soon after sunset. The moon rises in the east and stays low in the Southern sky.
On Sunday night, the moon is farther along in the zodiac and appears near the bright planet Jupiter. Other than the moon, Jupiter is the brightest celestial object in the night sky. You can’t miss it.
Scorpius is one of the southern-most zodiacal constellations. When the moon travels through this constellation it is low and easily becomes a favorite sight. Stand at the shoreline of South Beach in the evening this weekend and you get to see the low moon paint a glimmering path between you and the horizon.
