Carole Ann Hinckley, 45, Was Real Estate Broker

Carole Ann Hinckley of Edgartown, 45, died on Dec. 21 at her Bold Meadow Road home after a brief illness.

She was born in Brockton on Feb. 1, 1957 to Kenneth M. and Eunice W. (Newell) Hinckley. She grew up in Bedford and was a graduate of Bedford High School. Carole went on to attended and graduate from Simmons College. She moved to Martha's Vineyard in 1984 and went to work for several years for Benjamin Bolt Whale Real Estate and Construction Company. Carole later started American Real Estate of Martha's Vineyard, which she ran until her death. She was an avid beach walker and enjoyed yoga, gardening and had a great affection for her pet cats.

She is survived by her parents, Kenneth M. Hinckley of Chelmsford and Eunice W. Hinckley of Boxborough; a brother, John H. Hinckley of Lowell, a nephew, Lucas J. Hinckley of Dracut, and a host of loving friends and business colleagues.

A memorial service will be held in the spring at the Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home in Oak Bluffs at a date and time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Martha's Vineyard, P.O. Box 2549, Oak Bluffs, MA 02557.
