Howard H. Eddy, 88, of Dunedin, Fla. died May 4 at home.

He was born in Hartford, Conn. He lived and worked in New Britain, Conn. and retired to Dunedin, Fla. in 1983.

Howard was a summer resident of the Vineyard, spending his childhood in Harthaven and his family years on Abel's Hill in Chilmark.

He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and a member of the Power Squadron. He was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Dunedin, Fla. Sailing was Howard's passion.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Margaret; two daughters, Marion Eddy of Ayer and Abigail Sabol of Condon, Mont; two sons, Stanley of Tarpon Springs, Fla. and David of Amherst; a brother, Norman, of New York city; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
