Lydia Wysocki Meade of Peabody died Wednesday, May 6 at home. She was 91.
Born in Salem on May 30, 1917, a daughter of the late Zygmunt and Sophia Jastrzembski Wysocki, Lydia was raised in the Salem/Beverly area and was a resident of Waltham for many years before moving to Peabody in 2001.
A graduate of Salem Hospital Nursing School, Class of 1946, she worked as a registered nurse for many years.
Lydia and her late husband, Richard J. Meade, were members of the Oakley Country Club in Watertown and longtime summer residents of Martha’s Vineyard.
She leaves her daughter, Martha J. Meade and her husband, Steven H. Miller, of Pacific Palisades, Calif.; her grandsons, Richard Meade-Miller and Leland Meade-Miller; her sister, Jane S. Watson of North Andover; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Lydia was also the sister of the late Waldemar and Richard Wysocki.
Family and friends will honor and remember Lydia’s life by gathering for calling hours at the Joyce Funeral Home at 245 Main street in Waltham, on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Monday before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church at 147 Main street in Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be private.
