Norma M. Benefit Anshutz, 72, of Wadsworth, Ohio, died on Friday, Sept. 4, 2009 following a lengthy battle with lung cancer.
Born April 13, 1937 in Edgartown to the late Henry and Louise Benefit, Mrs. Anshutz was a graduate of Buckeye High School (Ohio) class of 1955; she enjoyed crafts, decorating her home, flowers, shopping, traveling and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her sister Lois McVicker Smith and great-granddaughter Eliana Kendall.
Norma is survived by her husband William (Bill) Anshutz, with whom she celebrated 53 years of marriage; son and daughter in law Steve and Pam Anshutz of Wadsworth; daughters and sons in law Sandy and Blane Matheney of Edgewater, Fla.; Jennie and Alan Cottrill of Wadsworth; and son Scott Anshutz of Wadsworth. There are eight grandchildren, Joseph Matheney, Todd Anshutz, Jeff Matheney, Alex (Bubbs) Cottrill, Alan (Bobbie) Cottrill Jr., Michael Fotta Jr., Kim Fotta Kendall and Frank Fotta; two great-grandchildren, August Kendall and Emet Kendall; and her brothers Ron Benefit of Lodi and Bill (Jan) Benefit of Sullivan. There are numerous nieces and nephews also surviving.
Interment was at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
