Emalea Pusey Warner Trentman of Greenville, Del., and West Chop, died on Jan. 23 at her residence at Stonegates.
Born in 1914 to Marian Tallman Warner and Irving Warner Sr., she attended Tower School of Wilmington, Ethel Walker School of Simsbury, Conn., and Bennington College, Vt. She worked in New York, Washington, D.C., and Germany. After her marriage to Stephen A. Trentman in 1966, they resided in Georgetown, D.C., where they were active in Christ Church. She had a great love for the National Cathedral, where she served as an active docent and was a longtime member of its women’s association.
She was an active member of the Garden Club of America, member of the Colonial Dames, an officer of the Christmas Shop and the Wilmington Flower Market. She was also a member of the Wilmington Country Club, the Greenville Country Club, the Society of Mayflower Descendents and the Lincoln Club of Delaware.
She was a benefactor of Winterthur Museum, University of Delaware, Trinity Episcopal Parish and numerous other philanthropies.
Emalea was predeceased by her loving husband, Stephen A. Trentman in 1990; a brother, Irving Warner Jr., and a sister, Anne Dickie Warner West. Mrs. Trentman is survived by her sister, Marian Warner Trotter of Charlottesville, Va; brother, John Warner of Wilmington; cousin, Mrs. George P. Bissell Jr. of Greenville; loving nieces and nephews and many close friends. The family wishes to thank A. Sue Rowe for her 25 years of care and devotion.
A memorial service will be held today, Jan. 29, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Parish, 1108 N. Adams street, Wilmington, DE 19801. Intermet will be private.
