Jonathan J. Walsh died on Monday, July 5, unexpectedly at his home in Providence, R.I., at the age of 23. He was the son of Deborah A. (Mattos) Little of Vineyard Haven and John V. Walsh of Natick.

Born in Wareham, Jonathan attended Wareham schools. A previous resident of Natick, Florida, Utah and Martha’s Vineyard, he had lived in Providence for the past three years.

Jonathan was a kindhearted and compassionate young man who loved music and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed collecting comic books and playing video games.

Survivors include his mother, Deborah, of Vineyard Haven; his father, John, of Natick; his stepfather, William Little, of Vineyard Haven; his brothers and sisters, Alecia Lombard of Providence, R.I., Amanda Lombard of Foxboro, Jessica Walsh of Vineyard Haven, Tessa Collier-Walsh of California and William Little Jr. of Marstons Mills. Also surviving are his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Dorothy Mattos of Wareham.

A funeral will be held at the Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home on Route 28 in Wareham on Saturday, July 10, at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church in Wareham at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Wareham. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
