Dr. Gretchen H. Jacobs of Vineyard Haven died peacefully in her sleep at home, with family and friends nearby, on the morning of June 3. She was 69, just shy of her 70th birthday, and had had a long battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held to honor and celebrate her life on Sunday, June 19 at 1:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Church in Vineyard Haven; all are invited to attend. There will be a gathering held for family and friends following the memorial service.
