The 155th annual Martha's Vineyard Agricultural Society Livestock Show Fair officially began at 10 a.m. Thursday. In the early morning hours judges were busy awarding blue ribbons after anxious entrants brought their wares to the hall. In the barns horses and cows were ready to greet the crowds.

Thank you. We look forward all year to exhibiting in the fair. What a lovely picture of Bob Ganz, my father entering his tomatoes. He is 91 and tends his garden daily. As soon as he dropped off his entries, he was thinking about what he can do now to have things grow even better next year.

I was so sad I couldn't make it to the fair this year but I'm loving the pictures. Especially the one of my favorite nonagenarian farmer and his amazing tomatoes. Did you see the size of that thing?
