Brass rings, fresh popcorn, Wurlitzer music and hand-carved horses going round and round: spring has officially arrived in Oak Bluffs. On Saturday the Flying Horses Carousel opened for the 142nd season. This year the oldest continously operating platform in the country sports six refurbished panels depicting river scenes and ships, a nod to how the carousel looked in its early days.
