August arrives and gets a bit of a bad rap. The summer is over, some say. Where did it go, others wonder aloud. Time to pack up, roll up the towels, kick off the sand, rummage around the back of the closet for the cozy sweater in preparation for the cool nights of fall.

Hogwash, August says. Summer still shines as brightly as ever, perhaps even more so as the clock is ticking.

So turn towards, not away, from these golden days, with a new-found hunger that cannot be appeased — that is what August asks of us. Go forth and do not disappoint, because August is watching.
