Change of hue at Priester's Pond. Tim Johnson

Sunday, October 17, 2021

October’s palette is new, as befits the new season. Most of the real flowering of summer is past now, although the goldenrod hangs on brilliantly, and adding their harmonious color in this month that partakes entirely of autumn are the golden pumpkins.

October is autumn through and through, and autumn is for walking. Alongshore, in the fields and forests, no month rewards the walker more handsomely, and although this may be somewhere truer than on the Vineyard, we don’t know where that place might be.
