Snow falls in Menemsha. Tim Johnson

Sunday, February 7, 2021

Snow has a way of inviting us to see anew as it opens new vistas, especially in the deep woods, which it seems to open up even as it decks them in white. As we step outside this morning the deep silence of snowfall awaits — soon will be the scrape of the shovel against sidewalk, the rhythmic brush on car windshields and window, and the rumble of the plow clearing Island streets.

I await the arrival of the Saturday version of the Gazette with such sweet anticipation and am always moved by Bill's writing (frequently tears, sometimes loud guffaws) followed then by the wonders of Tim's photos. Hard to say which I like better...so I just am grateful for this weekly bouquet of wonders.
