The Terrace and the Charlotte Inn in Edgartown have historically been open year-round, but the restaurant has faced staffing challenges throughout the pandemic.
The Charlotte Inn in Edgartown was honored this month with a 2010 Forbes Four Star Award by Forbes Travel Guide and named one of the top 20 small resorts in the United States as voted by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler Magazine.
The Forbes Travel Guide has defined the industry’s highest standard for excellence for over 50 years. The Charlotte Inn is one of only 160 hotels to achieve the 2010 Forbes Four Star award.
A new Italian fine dining restaurant is opening Wednesday, June 24, at The Charlotte Inn on Summer street in Edgartown. Owner and chef A.J. Black promises to infuse flavorful Italian herbs and spices, quality truffle oils and Barolo wines into homemade pasta and entrées of fresh seafood, whole fishes, aged beef, veal and lamb, free-range poultry and risottos.
His passion is to prepare uniquely rustic and classically refined dishes like filetto al pepe verde, duck fantasia, the chef said in a statement, with fresh lobster and fish specials prepared daily.
The Charlotte Inn of Edgartown received the 2011 Forbes Four-Star Award for its third consecutive year, making the inn one of only a select few hotels worldwide to earn the organization’s rating designation that recognizes superior guest satisfaction.
The Charlotte Inn in Edgartown continues to attract awards. The luxury Edgartown hotel has been named to British magazine Tatler’s list of 101 Best Hotels in the World. Only eight hotels in the United States were chosen for the list.
The inn also has been included on Forbes Travel Guide’s 54th annual list of five-star and four-star hospitality establishments worldwide, and was chosen as one of the top 30 small resorts in the United States in Conde Nast Traveler’s annual readers’ choice awards.
