Towns around the Island are looking to discourage trick-or-treating and large gatherings, while also trying to come up with creative solutions.

As Halloween approaches it’s not just worries about ghosts and goblins that have folks on edge. There is a pumpkin shortage on the Vineyard.

With stormy weather in the forecast for Halloween, officials in both Tisbury and Oak Bluffs announced that trick or treating would be postponed until Saturday.

Halloween is Thursday, Oct. 31 but that doesn’t mean you need to wait until then to get your fright night groove going.
