Dutcher Dock Thursday overflowed with curious visitors vying for a closer look at the vessels that help feed an Island of seafood lovers.

Fishermen, scallopers and the Island residents and visitors who feast on their catch all gathered by the Menemsha docks Thursday for the Martha’s Vineyard Fishermen’s Preservation Trust’s annual Meet the Fleet Event.

Dutcher Dock in Menemsha Harbor was flooded with visitors Thursday evening for an opportunity to catch a glimpse inside the Island’s commercial fishing industry in the fifth annual Meet the Fleet event.

The fifth annual Meet the Fleet festival will be held at the Menemsha Docks on Thursday, August 1 from 3 to 7 p.m.

The event is hosted by the Fisherman’s Preservation Trust, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the Island’s fishing fleets.

Commercial fishermen in Menemsha will come off the water next Thursday for the third annual Meet the Fleet event.
