Memorial Day weekend has arrived on Martha’s Vineyard, bringing with it a mix of uncertainty and optimism as Islanders navigate the shifting political and economic climates.
Veterans, public safety officials and members of the local boy and girl scout troupes marched from American Legion Post #257 to the Oak Grove Cemetery while Vineyarders lined the streets celebrating the marchers and what they stood for.
The American Legion Post 257 in Vineyard Haven held its annual Memorial Day parade with a ceremony that saw prayer, speeches and the traditional laying of wreaths.
