Longtime Oak Bluffs select board member Gail Barmakian is not seeking reelection after 15 years on the board, instead opting to run for the town clerk position. 

Voters in Oak Bluffs returned Emma Green-Beach to the select board at Thursday’s annual town election and ushered in K. Mark Leonard to the second open seat.

Voters in Oak Bluffs, Edgartown and West Tisbury will head to the polls today for their annual elections.

Kris Chvatal, Bill Cleary, Emma Green-Beach, and K. Mark Leonard were all queried about issues on the warrant for annual town meeting on Tuesday. 

Kris Chvatal, Bill Cleary, Emma Green-Beach and K. Mark Leonard are running for the two three-year terms. The seats have been held by Ms. Green-Beach, the current board chair, and Jason Balboni, who decided to not run for reelection.

Edgartown residents voted in a new school committee member and approved a new fire station. West Tisbury passed its $1.2 million library renovation.

Voting in Oak Bluffs is from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Oak Bluffs Library. Edgartown polls are at town hall and are open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voting in West Tisbury will be held from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the fire station at 454 State Rd.

Dion Alley, Thomas J. Hallahan and Kerry Mark Leonard are seeking the two open seats.

Three Island towns affirmed their support for the housing bank last week with a decisive win at the ballot box, while a razor-thin margin of victory in the Oak Bluffs select board race heads to a recount.

Incumbent Oak Bluffs select board member Gail Barmakian squeaked back into office Thursday, edging out challenger Dion Alley by just two votes.
