Voters in Oak Bluffs, Edgartown and West Tisbury head to the polls today for the annual town elections.
Each town will be handling several spending questions, but the biggest race of the day is for Oak Bluffs Select Board.
With board members Brian Packish and Ryan Ruley deciding to step down this year, three candidates are running for the two open seats.
Mark Leonard, a member of the town’s affordable housing committee, Dion Alley, a semi-retired technology executive who lost by a handful of votes in last year’s election, and Thomas Hallahan, a senior staffer at Sheriff’s Meadow Foundation, are all running.
In Edgartown, Margaret Serpa is running unopposed for select board, as is West Tisbury select board member Jessica Miller.
In other board races, Edgartown school committee incumbent Kimberly Kirk is running against challenger Kelly Scott, and Sean DeBettencourt is running against Robert Fehl for the Oak Bluffs planning board. Edgartown board of assessors member Alan Gowell is also being challenged by James Joyce.
In ballot questions, Edgartown will decide on its $21.5 million fire station, and repairs to North Wharf. Both passed at town meeting.
Oak Bluffs and West Tisbury will both vote on borrowing money to pay for a feasibility study that is looking at the possible replacement or reconstruction of the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School.
West Tisbury is also considering $1.2 million in repairs for the West Tisbury Public Library; Oak Bluffs will decide on funding for several projects, including culvert repairs at farm pond, a new highway loader and work for the East Chop bulkhead.
Voting in Oak Bluffs is from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Oak Bluffs Library. Edgartown polls are at town hall and are open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voting in West Tisbury will be held from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the fire station at 454 State Rd.
