Beach Road Weekend was a hit for thousands of music lovers and many down-Island businesses, but a mixed bag for some Tisbury neighbors, the town select board heard at its regular meeting Wednesday night.
Tisbury voters are getting something extra in their ballots for the midterm election in November: a yes/no question on whether restaurants with liquor licenses may legally serve alcohol without requiring the purchase of a meal.
Select board member Jeff Kristal will not seek re-election this spring. Mr. Kristal, an innkeeper and town businessman, has served three terms but not consecutively. The annual town election is May 24.
A massive plan to redevelop the Tisbury Marine Terminal on Beach Road in Vineyard Haven cleared another regulatory hurdle on Wednesday, when the town select board unanimously approved a harbor use permit for the project.
