The owner of Sharky’s Restaurant is offering $1,000 gift card for information leading to the arrest of a person who made off with a giant woodcarving of a shark, damaging it and then leaving it in a parking lot. Police are investigating the incident.
On Thursday, April 25, an order of nachos and a quesadilla can support a worthy cause. One hundred per cent of all food sales at Sharky’s Cantina in Edgartown and Oak Bluffs between 3 and 11 p.m. will be donated to The One Fund. The foundation helps those affected by the recent bombings at the Boston Marathon.
Sharky’s Edgartown cantina is hosting a fundraiser on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 9 p.m. to assist Islander Sally Sylvia with her medical expenses. J.B. and Heidi Blau, owners of Sharky’s Cantina, the popular Island eatery with locations in Edgartown and Oak Bluffs, have been selected by the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce to receive a Build a Better Mousetrap Award from Cape Cod SCORE at its 17th annual awards breakfast. The event is Thursday, May 20, at the Old Yarmouth Inn.
Build a Better Mousetrap Awards will go to 17 small businesses that have survived the critical first five years of operation and appear to be headed for long-term success.
Sharky’s Cantina will enjoy a growing presence on Circuit avenue this summer after Oak Bluffs selectmen approved an indoor-outdoor 24-seat expansion for the popular year-round restaurant on Thursday. The expansion into a deck in a neighboring building is not contiguous with the restaurant and will require wait staff to cross an alley that also serves as an entrance to the Camp Ground.
Sharky’s Cantina is celebrating all things Mexican with a Cinco de May celebration on Saturday night. Both the Edgartown and Oak Bluffs locations will offer free food from 6 to 9 p.m. At 9:30 p.m. Rick Bausman’s Beetlebung Steel Band hits the stage in Edgartown. A taco eating contest begins at 10:30 p.m.
