Vineyard native Chris Fischer will offer only the finest and freshest ingredients when The Covington opens its doors next Wednesday.

Garde East recently opened in the building that formerly housed The Blue Canoe. Chef Robert Sisca was sous chef at Le Bernard in in New York city and executive chef at Bistro du Midi in Boston.

With the sale of Flatbread, a musical era at the building that once housed The Hot Tin Roof comes to a close. New owner Brion McGroarty will open a restaurant named Tin Hangar.

2015

The 1950s-themed diner has a new owner and a new name. The Edgartown Diner is owned by chef Ralston Francis and his partner Mavis Hutchinson.

Albert Lattanzi was hired recently as executive chef at The Barn Bowl & Bistro, the popular new bowling alley in Oak Bluffs.

On summer weekends, the Right Fork Diner at the edge of Katama airfield is a small circus, with kids, music, food and a chance to see the Island from the seat of a classic biplane.
