South Beach has reopened after a shark sighting closed the popular Edgartown beach to swimming earlier Tuesday. Edgartown parks department director Jessica McGroarty said that the sighting occurred at 12:15 p.m.
The Martha’s Vineyard Film Center will screen the documentary Great White Summer on Sept. 12.
The sighting was around 9 a.m., according to The Trustees of Reservations, which manages the refuge, and swimming was restricted for two hours.
