From gas stations to grocery stores, the Island was bustling Monday morning as people prepared for a winter storm bearing down on the Island. Meanwhile, snow began to fall late Monday morning and other parts of the Island were peaceful as the first significant snowfall of the season started to accumulate.
A blizzard warning is in effect from 7 p.m. Monday through noon Tuesday. The winter storm is expected to bring potentially damaging winds, up to a foot of snow, and coastal flooding.
