Adult and Community Education of Martha’s Vineyard (ACE MV) will hold a course sampling fair with walk-in registration on Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the regional high school.

Enrichment courses begin the first week of October, as will two Island courses being offered for college credit (English composition and a medical terminology class) and essential English and math courses for those seeking a high school diploma or college prep.

The enrichment courses range from parenting (yes, there will be child care during class time) and cooking (Korean, French or tapas), to nature (birding, wild edibles), language (French, Spanish) and history (world religion, Wampanoag, and Latin American history through film). There are courses in social networking (that’s a computer class these days) and writing for the Web, as well as myriad arts classes: acting, belly dancing, capoeira, ceramics, piano/keyboard and salsa. For those seeking other means to mind and body well-being, there is a hula hoop workout, fencing, jiu-jitsu, detoxification, and Alexander technique. There is a cribbage class, one on understanding dementia, and another on understanding Medicare.

For those interested in international travel, there is a service project and volunteer opportunity to central America.

There also will be walk-in registration on Sept. 29 at the high school from 5:30 to 7 p.m. or you can get more information and register anytime for fall classes online at acemv.org. For details, call Lynn at 508-693-1033, extension 240.
