The Agricultural Society is celebrating the art of meat, both in the kitchen and on the dance floor.

On Saturday, Feb. 23, Jefferson Munroe of the Good Farm will host a sausage making workshop from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. His subjects are Island-raised, heritage breed pork from the Farm Institute. The class will be hands-on and participants will learn to make a variety of sausages. The class will also feature tastings and sausages to take home. The cost is $45 and includes a half-price admission to part two of the day — The Meat Ball.

The Meat Ball is not another class but a dinner and a dance party, also held at the Agricultural Hall in West Tisbury on Saturday. There will be more meat to eat and afterwards dancing to the beat of the Daytrippers.

Dinner is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. with dancing until 10 p.m.

The cost is $25 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under. Get tickets at the door and bring your own place settings and drinks. Call 508-627-7007 for information and to sign up for the sausage making class.
