In celebration of the return of Katama Bay oysters, Slow Food Martha’s Vineyard and Martha’s Vineyard shellfishermen are collaborating to bring a night of learning about oyster farming and a little oyster tasting on Oct. 22. The oyster shindig begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Port Hunter, Main street in Edgartown. The event includes a showing of the 40-minute film Shell Shocked: Saving Oysters to Save Ourselves, with discussion to follow. Tickets are $32 for Slow Food members and $40 for nonmembers and include the film, hors d’oeuvres and dinner. For more information, call 508-645-5000.
It’s time for the annual Romancing the Oyster event at the Harbor View Hotel.
