The Friends of the Edgartown Library would like to thank all those who helped to make the Pennywise Path 5K Run/Walk possible, including: the staff of the library who are always willing to help, the Edgartown School, especially John Stevens and Malcolm Broadbent; Island Transport and Winnetu who provided busses and drivers; Tom Seemans and Vineyard Bottled Water; the Edgartown police who managed traffic and safety; the Boys’ and Girls’ Club who designed the T-shirts; Beth Sawyer, who marked the trail; Joe and Marylee Schroeder who timed the race, and all those runners and walkers who came from near and far to participate. Many who came were visitors who appreciated the Pennywise Preserve trail maintained by the land bank. So far as I know, this is the only trail run that the Island has.
Next year we will have our new library, and we hope all those who participated in any way will return to celebrate!
