Island artist June Schoppe presents her first solo Island exhibition of her paintings at the Chilmark Library from Sept. 9 to 29.

The show is called Chilmark: Constancy and Change and will represent a retrospective of her work as well as new pieces. There will be an emphasis on the culture and natural heritage of Chilmark and Menemsha, with scenes of the iconic Menemsha fishing fleet.

Ms. Schoppe is a juried artist member and board member of the Martha's Vineyard Art Association and has painted and shown her work with AireMV, a group that paints Island scenes en plein air. She is a seasonal resident of Edgartown.

The opening reception for the show will take place Saturday, Sept. 9 at 3 p.m. at the library. Exhibit hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. For more information visit juneschoppe.com.
