Here we are in October. We have had the tail ends or middles of all the storms going around us. We have had rain, wind and humidity but according to the weather people it is going to get drier and fall will be upon us.
Happy birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. I promise I am trying but the school seems so far away.
This is definitely the wedding season. Rumor has it that there were 37 weddings in Edgartown last weekend. Brides and grooms were walking through town to their wedding destinations and the millions of pictures being taking in front of all our beautiful spots. Congratulations to them all.
I was away this weekend for my great niece Kaleigh Brown and Sebastian Pinto’s wedding. The saying is you only see your entire family at weddings funerals and baptisms. Well this was true of this wedding.
Kaleigh is the different niece. Our family refers to it as Kaleigh being Kaleigh. I mean that in a great way but if there is a tattoo to be had she has it. She has the piercings and she never has the same color hair when we see her, but she can pull all that off and she was a beautiful bride. She was not the traditional bride, big surprise to the family, (not really) but she was a beautiful bride and they had a happy day. She has a wonderful set of friends helping her and they all worked together so well. By the way, I have to add that Kaleigh is a cosmetologist, and she is great at her job. I wish her and Seb a very happy life together with their son Finley.
I have been asked to let parents know that the children’s clothing in the library lost and found is on display for one week. Then the items go to charity. So if your child is missing a jacket or anything they went to school with and came home without, check the library along with the school.
Social media has been full of pictures of the derby, with kids and their fish, and adults with theirs. It is winding down and it always goes to the last hour. Good luck to all anglers and keep those lines tight.
But as one door closes the other opens and also on FB were pictures of fried scallops from the first week of family permits allowing them a bushel of scallops. They looked delicious and I may need some waders.
Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
